FAQs

Quick answers to common questions.

What is the turn-around time for repair/service?

Most items are ready in a few days if no special parts need to be ordered. Parts on order may cause an extended turn-around time. Select repairs may take weeks or months if we’re busy and waiting on these parts. Your machine is put in line when dropped off, if back-ordered parts need to be ordered, the machine may fall out of the line which will extend wait times. If you need an expedited repair, tell us up front and we’ll try to work something out.

What do you NOT service/repair?

We DO NOT service or repair electric motors, and we DO NOT rebuild hydraulic pumps/motors/cylinders (we DO service fluids).

We DO NOT service or repair boats, wave runners, jet skis, or snowmobiles at this time.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, unless otherwise specified, a 7 day limited warranty on workmanship issues. If it doesn’t work as intended from our repair/service, we’ll take another look free of charge. Parts not produced/fabricated by BSER are subject to manufacturer warranty.

How much will it cost to service or repair my machine?

Pricing details are listed above. If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll point you in the right direction. Pricing may vary and is subject to change.

Can I wait at your shop while you service/repair my machine?

We currently DO NOT allow customers to wait while we perform service/repair.

I’m dropping off my machine — can you help load/unload?

We DO NOT drive/ride/control any machines on/off customer trucks or trailers for liability reasons.

We DO help load/unload smaller equipment (push mowers, generators, pressure washers, etc.).

Please confirm with us in advance if you may need help. We have a forklift for larger machines.

What payment methods do you accept? When do I pay?

We accept credit/debit (credit has 3% fee), cash, check (up to $300), Venmo, Zelle, and Apple Pay. Payment is due at or before pickup by customer, or dropoff to customer — no exceptions.

Can I return parts I purchased from you?

Returns are accepted within 30 days for new & unopened products that are not discontinued. Discontinued, open-box, or used parts are not returnable.

What happens if you find another issue with my equipment?

If a new/unrelated issue is found during service/repair, we will always notify you before proceeding with any extra work.

What happens if I don’t pick up my equipment?

After 10 days from notification that your item is ready, a $10/day storage fee may incur to promote a timley pickup. If we don’t receive a response within 30 days, the item will be sold/scrapped to reclaim lost profit.

About

Owner/Operator • Billy Timm

Since I was a kid, I’ve always been fascinated by how things work — and I’ve taken just about everything apart. My passion for small engines began with helping my dad mow the lawn on our old riding mower. In 2018, I bought my first go-kart to work on as a father-son project, and from that moment, my love for engines turned into an obsession.

Over the years, I spent countless hours fixing, tinkering, and learning everything I could about small engines. In 2021, I decided to turn that passion into something more when I realized how many people I could help — and that’s how Billy’s Small Engine Repair was started.

While many shops are quick to say “just replace it,” I take pride in first finding a cost-effective repair solution. I enjoy rebuilding and repairing what others might give up on, many times on older brands and models worth being saved. No matter the age or condition of your equipment (cost & time permitting), I’ll do my best to bring it back to life before calling it a loss.

If you have questions about your equipment, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be happy to help even if not providing services to your equipment.
